Water heating accounts for about 15% of a typical home's annual energy use, and an energy-efficient system can help to reduce this impact on your budget. Natural Gas and Propane on-demand tankless water heaters offer a constant flow of hot water, providing exceptional comfort and convenience. If you have a water heater that is more than 7 years old, have the Gas Doctor make a house call and we will evaluate your current system and explain your options.
If you have a boiler heating your home, there are three options when it comes to upgrading your system; a direct water heater, Natural Gas-fired water heater, or indirect water heater. An indirect water heater utilizes the boiler for water heating and stores heated water in a separate tank. Direct tankless systems are more energy-efficient than their tanked counterparts as they do not require the water to be heated, reheated, and refilled into the tank.
A home that is heated by a furnace generally does not have the option of indirect water heating or a combined system and instead use a standalone Natural Gas or Propane fired appliance.
Reliable hot water can be supplied from the boiler all year round with a Bradford White indirect tank water heater. Tank water heaters can either be heated by their fuel supply (direct fired) or be supplied hot water from the boiler (indirect).
